In April, the National Coalition for History (NCH) launched a new, attractively informative web site at www.historycoalition.org.

This is an exciting development because it allows NCH to bring you access to news as it is made in Washington, D.C., through our new blogging capability. Visitors to the site can sign up for RSS feeds to keep them posted about the latest blogs.

The web site will also contain up-to-date issue briefs, and links to Congress, federal agencies and NCH member organizations. In addition, the web site will provide access to the CapWiz electronic system for grassroots congressional action.

The traditional weekly newsletter will continue to be distributed on Fridays, wrapping up events in the capital for the week with greater in-depth coverage. Current subscribers to the newsletter will continue to receive it uninterrupted; others may register on the web site to receive the RSS feeds and the weekly newsletter.

The NCH would like to thank The History Channel and its chief historian, Libby O'Connell, for their sponsorship of the web site. The web site was designed and is being maintained (and hosted), by the Center for History and New Media (CHNM) at George Mason University. I would like to thank Roy Rosenzweig, the director of the center, Tom Scheinfeldt, assistant director, and Laura Veprek, who designed the NCH web site, for their hard work in launching the site. Finally, I would like to thank H-NET and its executive director, Peter Knupfer, for having graciously hosted the NCH web site since its inception, and for their years of support.
