Dates & Deadlines

The deadline for submitting proposals for the 2016 annual meeting has passed. The Program Committee will notify submitters of their decisions in late April. Please note that historians from the United States appearing on the program are required to be AHA members. Everyone on the program must register for the meeting when registration opens in the fall.  The deadline for proposals for the 2017 annual meeting will be February 15, 2016.

April

Late April The Program Committee will notify submitters of its decisions.

Summer

Summer Program participants will receive an email with the date, time, and hotel assignment of their session, as well as a proof of the session as it will appear in the printed program.

September

Mid-September Registration opens.
Mid-September Housing opens.
Mid-September Child-care grant application period opens.
Late September Deadline to submit membership dues and address changes in order to receive the program in the mail.

October

Mid-October Interviewing institutions can download Job Center reservation forms.

November

Early November Child-care grant application period closes at 11:59 p.m.
Mid-November Program mailed to members.
Mid-November First deadline for reserving a Job Center table or room

December

Early December Housing cutoff date for all hotels. Subsequent reservations taken on a space-available basis at the convention rate for the nights of January 7-10, inclusive.
Early December Deadline for Job Center refund requests.
Mid-December Last day for pre-registration pricing.
Mid-December Deadline to submit registration refund requests.

January

January 7 2016 annual meeting opens in Atlanta.
