Task Force to Review Perspectives

AHA Staff | Mar 1, 1997

An ad hoc subcommittee of the Council has been formed to assess the role and place of Perspectives in the work of the Association. The review will include an assessment of present content, topics requiring contributing editors, advice on plans for expanding and reformatting the newsletter, and recommendations for a five-year review process. Peter N. Stearns, vice president of the AHA Teaching Division, will chair the task force. Other members include John Talbott (Univ. of California at Santa Barbara) and Robert Brent Toplin (Univ. of North Carolina at Wilmington).

The task force will take into consideration the results of the readers’ survey that was published in the September 1996 issue of Perspectives. Task force members are also seeking additional reader comments. Stearns explained that “we will be eager to receive any suggestions or comments from Perspectives readers, including, of course, positive evaluations of what the newsletter has been doing.” Readers may send their comments to any or all of the task force members by April 15, 1997.
