Grant of the Week: American Academy of Religion Research Grants

Sadie Bergen | Jul 24, 2015

Every week, AHA Today showcases a new grant, fellowship, or scholarship of interest to historians that has been posted to our free Calendar. We look for grants of potential interest to a wide range of scholars.

This week, we are featuring grants offered through the American Academy of Religion (AAR).

To fulfill its commitment to advance research in religion, the AAR each year grants awards ranging from $500 to $5000 to support projects proposed by AAR members and selected by the AAR Research Grants Review Committee. These projects can be either collaborative or individual.

These grants provide support for important aspects of research such as travel to archives and libraries and field work. Grant awards range from $500 to $5000. Funds are not provided for dissertation research, research assistance, released time, publication expenses, or travel to attend the AAR Annual Meeting.

Applicants must submit their materials through the online research grants proposal submission form.

Applications must be uploaded by August 1.

Hard copies or e-mailed copies of application materials will not be accepted.
