Given the range of topics and fields that fall under the Association's umbrella, we have to work in coordination with dozens of other organizations that are either more specialized in their approach to history, or allow us to connect across disciplines on issues that transcend our discipline.
The Association has direct ties to 106 affiliated societies, which focus in on more specialized aspects of the field.
The AHA also belongs to six cross-disciplinary coalitions, that address larger needs in the academy and the profession.
In addition to the organization with whom the AHA maintains a regular connection, staff have also prepared lists of other sites that may be of interest to teachers, graduate students, and public historians.
