Southern California History Tuning Workshop

California State University, Long Beach
Long Beach, California
Friday, October 9, 2015

The AHA Tuning project's discipline core is a statement of the central habits of mind, skills, and understanding that students achieve when they major in history. At this event, participants will learn about the Tuning project and how it might be useful in a wide variety of activities:

  • Improving student learning
  • Developing authentic, meaningful assessments
  • Creating programmatic learning outcomes
  • Program review
  • Reforming curricula and individual courses
  • Narrowing achievement gaps
  • Increasing transferability between institutions
  • Accessing resources for program improvement

We will collaborate with historians from other institutions as well as the AHA, including the Institute for Evidence-Based Change, and the California History Social Science Project. Join us for this exciting event. Attendance is free, and lunch will be provided.
