AHA Surveys: Historians Teaching Off the Tenure Track

The AHA Professional Division  seeks to collect information about the working conditions of historians employed as contingent faculty. We have developed two surveys, one for non-tenure-track faculty (NTT) and one for department chairs. We invite historians to complete the appropriate survey by May 1, 2025.

The American Historical Review is the flagship journal of the AHA and the journal of record for the historical discipline in the United States, bringing together scholarship from every major field of historical study.
