Lauren Brand is the reviews editor for the American Historical Review and serves as staff liaison to the Professional Division and the Working Group on Small Liberal Arts Colleges. She earned her MA and PhD from Rice University in Houston, Texas. Her doctoral research focused on the history of Native peoples in the trans-Mississippi west in the 19th century.
