Tired of time-consuming searches on the internet for finding the perfect forum for your latest scholarly essay? Help is at hand. The newest addition to the AHA's expanding web site is a Directory of History Journals (online at www.historians.org/pubs/free/journals/). Compiled by the Research Division’s staff and coded for the Web by the AHA’s in-house internet experts, the directory is an online database designed to make it easier for scholars to publish their research. The directory provides information—about the periodicity and publisher of the journal and links to its web site—on more than 350 English-language journals (print and electronic) that publish articles dealing with a variety of historical topics. Users simply choose their specialty from the AHA taxonomy (or enter terms in the title search box) and get a list of relevant journals. The submission guidelines and descriptive information for these journals will then be only a few mouse-clicks away. The database also allows users to suggest ways to improve the service. A “feedback” link is provided with each journal title for suggestions—regarding the category classification, for example. A “general feedback” link permits users to submit general comments.
